MEET TIM WAKEHAM, SHARING MY JOURNEY PURSUING A DOCTORATE IN LEADERSHIP PSYCHOLOGY AND NEUROSCIENCE.

IT’S LONELY AT THE TOP,

I understand that leadership is a lonely position. Everyone thinks they understand what you do. They do not. They could not. Few can know the stress on today’s leaders. I understand the unrealistic demands, and challenging people.

LIFE IS AN ADVENTURE WORTH SHARING

Besides adventure travel, Tim’s passions include animals. He loves them all but especially his Terrier Bo. Tim is also a foodie who loves to eat and cook, in that order. Tim also has a passion for movies, especially his two favorites “The Count of Monte Cristo,” and “The Equalizer,” one or two. Tim’s biggest passion is leadership which is why he went back to school to earn his doctorate in Leadership Psychology with an emphasis in the Neurobiology of leadership. Tim is in his final year of doctoral training. Tim specializes in the development of organizational leadership and especially the underpinnings of communication, motivation, and teamwork. Tim proclaims that, “Communication is the oxygen of relationships, the science of motivation is the rocket fuel for accomplishment, and well-designed teamwork is the amplifier to success.” His legacy of work has made his words autobiographical for many leaders.

I was tasked to build and command a new U.S. Air Force Special Warfare School house. One of the first people I called was Tim. He stopped what he was doing and flew right out. In a short period of time, Tim quickly walked the campus, met with my staff, and helped streamline our processes. He observed, asked questions, assessed, and proposed solutions…
